We go for a deeper, darker shade of blue in The Incomprehensible Agents of S.M.O.O.C.H’s commentary of Underworld with Kate Beckinsale who wears just the right amount of leather. It’s like Twilight had a baby with The Matrix but with Neo and Bella but more Vampires and Lycans but fewer computer programmers or something. About halfway through we question all our life choices. Whoever called this a romance should probably be fired, except Annette promises there’s a hybrid love child and more Michael Sheen coming in The Rise of the Lycans. This commentary dies a slow vampiric death more than it ends. Will we continue? Probably not. But maybe Director Annette will persuade them.

It goes from book to podcast to Twitter back to podcast…. it’s Action Castle III! After we played Action Castle III on Game Show episode 95, Tony took to Twitter to do a “fun” interactive Action Castle game with listeners. The result took weeks and took over Tony’s life.

Well, Tony has recovered, and now we’re here to wrap this members-only episode, stick a bow on it, and put it under the tree. It’s Jason and Tony—with guest NPC’s—re-enacting the Twitter shenanigans of Action Tony, as all of Twitter plays Action Castle III.

Corner of the Sky: Smash

Even—especially—the most fervent Smash fans will tell you that it is completely ridiculous. The 2012 cult hit only lasted for two seasons, but there were enough scandals, plot twists, and dramatic songs to last a lifetime. Smash follows the writers, stars, and director of the musical Bombshell, the life story of Marilyn Monroe, and their attempt to mount it on Broadway. Actresses vie for the title role. Producers vie for capital. An absurd number of characters vie for other character’s beds. In the second season, Bombshell finds competition in the new musical Hit List, and several artists leave Bombshell to work on Hit Lit—because of course they do.

With a ridiculously great Broadway actor-filled cast and a stunning number of original songs, Smash was something special. It inspired a lot of love even when the plot went off the rails, which was… often. This episode is cut together from five individual interviews of people’s completely opposite opinions on the show, including Incomparable panelists Monty Ashley and David Loehr.
