NBC moved "Kings" to Saturdays and promptly cancelled it after one showing. Idiots.
Evidently, the suits plan to burn off the remaining episodes in June and July. Morons.
Re-read the Incomparable symposium on "Kings" and despair. Imbeciles. (Not you. The other guys.)
Your failure to use the word "regicide" in your headline is perhaps the most disappointing thing you've ever done.
And you have been so very disappointing.
"Regicide" is tough on the ear, you see. This is a very wearying one. It's unpleasant to read. Unrewarding.
I'm very sorry to see NBC treat this show so badly. I've been following it religiously. (hee hee, get it?) Seriously, I've really enjoyed it, despite a few "huh?" moments. Seeing Al Swearingen on network TV playing a "king" of a nation that closely resembles America, and in a story that is based on the Book of Samuel has been mind-blowing, to say the least. (Did some bible-thumpers take over the network, or is this the reviled secularists delivering a pragmatical take on a fable from the bible?)
I guess you can't argue with the Nielsen numbers, but despite all my years of observing the television landscape, I am still always dismayed at just how unappreciated the best shows on television are.
I can only hope that the producers of this show come out with a DVD set. I won't even mind if it doesn't have any extras.
er...on a personal note, I'm very glad to see you still blogging and writing so well about television.
I see that 5 of the "Kings" episodes are on iTunes for purchase,so far.

I did not watch the show. I'm so tired of getting fired up about a new show, only to have the networks yank it away before it can find it's audience - leaving me hanging with an unfinished story. Now I wait to see if it lasts a little longer. Then I feel guilty when it is yanked, because I didn't "help" it stay on the air.
:)
NBC has five or six episodes left to burn off. I wouldn't be surprised if the network puts together a series DVD, as they did with My Own Worst Enemy, another criminally underrated show. My guess is, there will be some sort of resolution -- just like in the Bible. It's worth watching, whether on iTunes, DVD, whatever.
